Everyone would say that I’m bit biased or partial in making this statement. To some extent it’s true, but I guess later on I’ll make you say that it’s correct...
If you ask a CS or an IT engineer what exactly he/she has to do??? The person would most probably say that he/she has to work on some project or do the programming or something like that... but they are never involved in some kind of public relation or managing people in their work period. Even after having quite experience in the respective field they may become the team or project leader but will always be considered as a team person on work...
Well I guess you will get my point, someone despite having leadership quality or potential to be a manager and may just get there as by the designation, but would he be like what a real manager exactly is???
Hope you can figure out what I am looking to say over here...
Now let’s take the case of MECHANICAL Engineers..
When a Mech. Engg. Takes admission in the college... he makes up his mind to take the upcoming challenges...
Like playing pranks...being creative...and making faculties shout throughout the year...
Well that’s just to say...
When a Mechanical Engg. goes in to the co. He has to lead a team of certain technicians... to get the things done... Well those may vary from the age group of 20 to 50.. but those all would be under his supervision.
The ultimate goal of the engg. Would be managing them as per work load and their working capacity... and all this has to be done on the daily basis... for which an engg. Is made all responsible...
It may depends on the individual how well they can handle them as per requirement... but from the word GO they have to do all this...n they have that natural instinct to get the things done as per the plan...
So, just imagine that a CS/IT Engg. May have to get the work ex. Of 4-5 yrs to get a team leading for which he is not the sole responsible...but a Mechanical Engg. Is being made responsible fr handling the technicians and the project right from the day he enters the professional life...
And I guess managing some 25 odd persons who have better practical knowledge and of almost double your age is some kind of a hell some job...
But that’s what we love to....
That’s why I say Mechanical Engg. are far better managers as compared to CS/IT graduates... they may be getting a handful of money or being relaxed and sitting job in their air conditioned office... but when it comes to your skills and some reputations Mechanical guys always stand out...
And if someone who does not agree with this “I CAN’T HELP AS YOU DON’T WANT TO FACE THE TRUTH....”
